RYEBEACH COMMUNITY CENTRE OUR COMMUNITY CENTRE "A Place for All People " Rye Beach Community Centre is a not for profit organisation that is community owned and operated by a Committee of Management. It provides a variety of classes, activities and short term childcare at reasonable costs. Some local clubs meet on the premises and facilities are available for hire. Rye Beach Community Centre was established in 1984 by Wendy and Ian Burgis in an old house on the current site, Shire of Flinders councillor Bill Downie was also a driving force. Mornington Peninsula Shire supports the centre through funding and rental of building at low cost. The current purpose built building was opened in 1998.

Volunteers are important in the running of the centre as well as the committee members there are also people who help out with office work, childcare, gardening and maintenance, classes and events on a regular basis. |
